Create Process Documentation

Use this dialog to create your Process Documentation.

Process Documentation is always based either on a Microsoft Word template (*.dot, *.dotx) or a Microsoft Word document (*.doc, *.docx) created in the Process Documentation facility. To use the default Word template distributed with Process Modeler, simply select the Use default Process Documentation Template option. The default template is stored as Templates\Process Documentation\default.dot in the installation folder.

To select another template or an already created document, choose the Based on other Document or Template option and press the Browse button.

Select the process documentation definition (pdx) file to use for the documentation. The files are listed as followed:

  • Definition file with the same name as the template
  • Definition files found in the same folder as the template
  • Additionally selected files from other locations
  • The default file taken from the process modeler settings

The last selection is memorised while the process modeler application is running. To select an additional pdx file use the “…” button.

Note: If the creation procedure targets an already created document, it always creates a copy without changing the original document.

If the checkbox Open created Document in Word is selected, then the created document will be opened as an unsaved document in Microsoft Word. If this option is not checked, a file save dialog will be shown instead right after creation.

Press the Template Wizard button to start a wizard to create a complete documentation.

OK starts the Process Documentation procedure.
